Preview: 2010 BMW 5-series revealed!!

Could this really be the new 5-series???

The new design is critical for BMW’s design manager Adrian van Hooydonk and his team, who have to create an exterior that radiates the brand’s distinctive design values and at the same time feels new and fresh. Using information from various sources, these renderings were compiled by our partners over at Sweden’s Auto Motor and Sport and their illustrator Radovan Varicak, giving us a preview of what the final version will look like.

New BMW 5 Series

The front-end will likely feature a more upright kidney grille in order to comply with stronger pedestrian protection laws, while the headlights won’t be stretched out like on the current model. BMW’s characteristic interaction between convex and concave shapes will still be emphasized, and will be clearly indicated in the engine hood’s lines.

The rear roofline and C-pillar connects more fluidly to the trunk lid, which is now devoid of the Bangle-butt that was so universally derided with the E60 model. Parts of the tail-lights continue onto the trunk lid in order to strengthen the impression of width. We must say, this design is very pleasing and if BMW’scar looks anything like this, we sure it’ll lure back any customers loss to its rivals because of the controversial styling of the former E60.

New BMW 5

The new 5-series is being built off an entirely new chassis, with double wishbones in the front, like on the new X5. The move is designed to give better control and road grip around corners, according to the chassis engineers. With the aid of the extremely fast Flex-Ray automotive network communications protocol, the adaptive shock absorbers is set to become more effective, as will active steering.

New concept car BMW!!!

New concept car - BMW Vision EfficientDynamics

The official world premier will take place this month at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
BMW will never fail to surprise me because every time they introduce a new car it is always a masterpiece.

The new BMW Vision is a hybrid car that has 2 electric motors and a three-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. The total capacity is of 356 HP. The car can reach 100 km/h in only 4.8 seconds. And the best about this hybrid is the fuel consumption – no more than 3,76 liters for 100 km. Incredible! Love this car. More pictures after the jump:

They are just too GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BMW 6-Series

In 1989 the original 6 Series was supplanted by the more expensive and higher performance 8 Series. In late 2003, the 6 Series was reintroduced as a 2004 model, with coupé and convertible versions based on the BMW E63 and BMW E64 platforms, respectively.
Unlike that of the new 5 Series and 7 Series models, the styling of the new 6 Series has generally received a warm welcome from the BMW community—except, largely, owners and enthusiasts of the E24. The new 6 Series was designed to look like a shark, and many have acknowledged the resemblance. The controversial rear styling is considered to work somewhat better on the shapely E63 than on other BMWs.

De 5-Series are just CooL......

The 5 Series got its name by being the fifth of the "new series" cars after the V-8 and Isetta era. The preceding models were the 700, the"New Class", the "New Six" 2500/2800/Bavaria and the CS. The 5 Series was intended to replace the older New Six sedans.

The body was styled by Marcello Gandini, based on the Bertone 1970 BMW Garmisch 2002ti Geneva show car. Gandini also did the Fiat 132 and Alfa Romeo Alfetta, two other cars that have a similar design.

There have been five generations of the 5 Series to date. To differentiate between them, they are referred to by their unique chassis numbers (EXX).

The 5 Series began the BMW tradition of being named with a three-digit number. The first digit (5 in this case) represents the model, and the following two digits (usually) represent the size of the engine in decilitres, which is the main distinguishing difference. Additional letters or words may be added to the end of the three-digit number to define the fuel type (petrol or diesel), engine or transmission details, and the body style. The 'i' originally stood for (fuel) 'injection'.

The BMW 3 Series Coupe. "Another Attracting One!!"

The exterior of the BMW 3 Series Coupe.

It’s the proportions that make the BMW 3 Series Coupe look exquisitely dynamic. The exterior design is conditioned by surfaces and lines which flow from the focussed front into the flat rear end and impart an impression of stretched dynamism. The shoulder line and the swage line extend across the entire length of the vehicle, underscoring the characteristic, sleek coupe look.

The interior of the BMW 3 Series Coupe.

An integral part of the exterior design, the contrasting interplay between concave and convex surfaces also plays an important role inside the cockpit where the perfect combination of colours and materials underlines the elegant and athletic character of the BMW 3 Series Coupe. The horizontal emphasis of the instrument panel, as well as the dynamic properties of the centre console and the side trim panels, creates an ambience of stretched dynamism and lightness throughout the interior

BMW 1 Series Convertible

The exterior of the BMW 1 Series Convertible.

During the day, the sun reflects across the long lines of the hood's contour before being absorbed by the convex-concave surfaces and protruding wheel arches. At night, city lights rebound off the muscular profile. When the softtop is open, the focus shifts to the wide and elegant rear. When closed, the impact is compact and powerful. Embodying a unique approach to life, the BMW 1 Series Convertible offers the most inspiring open-top driving experience in its class..

The interior of the BMW 1 Series Convertible.

In harmony with the exterior, the interior presents a clear, light and agile design which is distinguished by dynamic, horizontal contours that create a formal link between the front and rear. Together with the car's high-quality materials and wide variety of upholsteries and interior trims, the interior design contributes to the feeling of total freedom. And with such choice available, the face of next year's summer is completely up to you. Experience driving pleasure in its purest form..

The softtop of the BMW 1 Series Convertible.

Feel the wind at the touch of a button: the electronic softtop opens and closes in just 22 seconds, even while the car is moving at speeds of up to 40 km/h. When closed, the reinforced, integrated rear window helps to better block out noise. With a weight of 1,260 g/sqm, the strong roof material ensures improved noise insulation and offers the same comparable level of winter comfort as a permanent roof. The softtop is also available in anthracite with silver effect lending it a unique sparkling finish.

My favourite one among de 1st Series....Its just AMAZING..counting my days to OWN one!!
